A.G.A.Barrie was born on 8th March 1936. He had his primary education in Maligahene Muslim School in Beruwela and moved to Zahira College Colombo for further education. Entered the University of Ceylon in 1956 and graduated as an engineer in 1960. Joined Government Railways in 1961 and left in 1965 to join CDE. Migrated Canada in 1969 and presently International Consultant. Married to Jiffriya and has three children Iftikhar,Raihana and Radhia. and fifteen grand children, ten of them in Canada and five in Sri lanka.

Alhamdulilah, there have been two more additions to the Family of Good, Abdul Rahman Shafraz Abdul Rahman and Khadija Ramzeen Bacha were both born in the month of May, the babies and their respective mothers are doing well.

Welcome to the Family of Good Community

The ‘Family of Good’ hails from a coastal town originally called Barbereen, Serandib, presently known as Beruwela, Sri Lanka. The first Muslims in this area are said to have settled in the 8th century. The lineage of this family originates from the Quraish of Arabia in general and Othman, third Caliph of Islam in particular. The details of migration and settlements are established in the family roots attached to the web site.
